Coming to an End

We are all finding it hard to believe that we are already at the end of our Mission Trip week...so sad!! VBS on Thursday night was exciting as we had 11 return, and we have 12 tonight. Our lessons have built on each other each night, which as really helped create a "big picture" of who Christ was, how He showed He was truly the Messiah, and now why His death and resurrection was necessary for the forgiveness of sins. Planting seeds is why we are here, and we know that God will bring along the fruit in His time. What a blessing to be part of His plan to spread the Gospel.

Tomorrow will be about cleaning the house, getting packed, and making it through Salt Lake City's airport as smoothly as possible...your prayers are appreciated.

VBS in Motion

What a great night we had on Day 2 of VBS! We increased in our numbers to 19 children, ranging in age from 5 years old to 6th grade. Tonight's lesson centered around 2 stories about miracles - calming the storm and healing the lepers. The kids were shown how Jesus' miracles proclaimed that he was truly the Messiah. After our visit to Temple Square today, knowing who Jesus truly is cannot be preached enough! Pray for us as we continue through the Life of Christ this week - what a priviledge to be part of the effort to share the Gospel.

Tuesday = Start of VBS

This evening we have our first night of VBS. The teens are diligently preparing for their part in making VBS come together. Our skit people are dramatic, our craft people are creative, our game people are energetic, and Amani is holding down the store. These teens truly have a heart to come together in the name of the Lord to put on a great VBS for His honor and glory. We begin tonight at 6pm (8pm EST) and will finish at 8pm (10pm EST). Pray for many visitors, tender and open hearts, and that all will be done to show the need for Christ.

Monday = Canvasing

Monday morning was spent canvasing the neighborhoods around the church. For the most part, people were polite, we only had a few slam the doors in our faces. The teens were fearless in their efforts to "advertise" VBS for the week. We appreciate your prayers as we finish the details of VBS...what a great opportunity to service the members of Liberty Bible Church, and prayerfully, share the gospel with visitors.

Salt Lake on a Sunday

What a great day of fellowship with the believers at Liberty Bible! Knowing we are singing and worshiping God with people, who by the grace of God, were saved out of a dark, all-consuming "religion" was a fantastic and encouraging experience. The teens are serving with great gusto, even though we went 20 hours before bedding down on Saturday...they are like energizer bunnies!!
